Forensic Interviewing and Fact Witness

Divorce proceedings often necessitates the therapist to testify in child custody cases. More egregious, high conflict cases often times require a higher degree of examination to obtain information that will either corroborate or refute allegations or suspicions of abuse and/or neglect.

The forensic interviewing process includes interviewing (the child(ren), parent(s), medical and mental health professionals, and teachers), reviewing (emails, texts and relevant literature), and ultimately producing a finding of fact that yields the evidence needed for a judge to make a fact-based determination about whether abuse or neglect has occurred.
